Trimino is the brand that has explicitly stated they want to dominate the protein water market. They contain only 7 g protein per 16 oz bottle – little functional benefit, and thus little more than paying a premium for flavored water. The rest is marketing.

Anything less than 11-12 grams of protein is less than a snack size for adults and will have little effect on hunger or energy.  Trimino also contains artificial ingredients – acesulfame potassium, and sucralose. Both these ingredients have been perceived by families to be detrimental to children in terms of potential links to ADD/ADHD, and cancers. Sucralose contains two chlorine molecules.  Thus is also unlikely to be a beverage for the family.
